Hochstein School of Music

Since 1920, Hochstein School of Music & Dance has served as Rochester's community school of the arts. Each year, an exceptional 140-member faculty teaches more than 4,000 Hochstein students.

In 1999, Holdsworth Klimowski Construction (HKC) completed a $1.1 million dollar renovation of the Hochstein Music Performance Hall, the centerpiece of the Hochstein complex residing in a historic 18th. Century church! A city location, and the need to keep the school operational during construction, were among the many challenges in this unique project that HKC successfully completed. The project included: upgrades of structural, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, construction of a new stage, matching unique wood and plaster, and complete restoration of the gold leaf dome.

At Holdsworth Klimowski, we have the experience to plan, manage, and successfully complete renovations to historic buildings. We know the importance of, and social responsibility to, projects of this architectural significance.
